@MojangSupport still cant get a straight answer. Want kids to be able to play minecraft using pcs and xbox with friends around the world who are on ipads. Do i buy xbox live account or mojang account?

You can buy either Minecraft on Xbox or Minecraft on Windows 10 depending on the platform you wish to play on. Both platforms will be able to play with others! ^AF

Doesnt really answer the question. For edample if my kid wants to connect to hypixel - does he need an xbox live subscription, a mojang subscription, or just to have done a once of purchase of the java insance of the game?
