@MojangSupport what did Switch version of Minecraft break? I can't get it to run after 1.12.08 i get the message.

Well I can't submit a JIRA, and I did follow up I had to delete all previous saved data. Ninentdo support hadn't seen this before. Reinitialized console, and wiped and downloaded game again. Clean start.
