Does this happen when you connect to Realms and/or servers? What console? Are you using a Microsoft account? ^AH

Oh sorry I didn't see you replied I am playing on the Switch version of minecraft and I do have my microsoft account connect to it

What has been happening for the past few weeks is that when I try to connect to a friends world via either the cross platform or switch friend it will show up but after trying to enter it'll show a loading screen for a minute or two before showing the 'Unable to connect to world'

I had tried restarting my switch and router and getting the other player to do it as well but the results are about the same, I also tried signing out and signing back in cause I saw online that it had worked for them, although that was pre-aquatic update

And as for realms or server i haven't tried either of those yet so I suppose they might work?

The best solution I have come across is just repeatedly retrying to join the world until it loads it in, although that took over an hour one time so I can't say it is the most tried and true method
