There is not; once the game has been updated, you will only be able to play that version of the game. If you have Java Edition, however, you can play on earlier versions there. Just be aware that we do not support older game versions! ^FF

This means that Minecraft couldn't reach the authentication servers or the connection timed out due to a temp service outage or issues with your game/internet connection. Try signing out and back in to your account, and ensure that you're connected to the internet. ^FF

Ruling out any connection issues would be a great first step! Try switching to a hardwire connection if you're using WiFi, as well as rebooting your router and making sure that others on your network aren't using taxing services like streaming or downloading large files. ^FF

This error can be caused by using incompatible third-party software or launchers, or incorrect parental consent settings. Try uninstalling any third-party launchers or software and log into Minecraft using the regular launcher, and let us know if the error persists or not. ^FF
