In this case, it sounds like you're wanting to play with your friends on a private server. If that is the case, you will need to contact the owner of the server to see if they can assist. ^TK

Is the black screen showing as a pop-up window, or is the entire screen just black? Does this only happen when trying to boot up the game, or does it happen elsewhere in Minecraft (joining a world, visiting the Marketplace, etc.)? Let us know and we'll do our best to assist! ^FF
