Make sure that the latest version of Java is updated and enabled. You can check this by going into your Control Panel > Programs > Java Control Panel, then make sure the latest Java version is set to "enabled" by checking the box. If you still have trouble, let us know! ^AM

As of Minecraft version 1.18, Java Edition requires Java version 17. This new version of Java should come bundled with the normal installation, so reinstalling the game should help. This article has steps for uninstalling and reinstalling: bit.ly/3XXFn9k ^IV
