Do you happen to be playing on WiFi or Hardwire Connection? If it is WIFI I would suggest switching over to hardwire would be a good idea. Have you also added anything to the World as of recent that may be causing issues? ^TK

I wish I had any recommendations for you BUT I'm not sure of the best texture packs! Checking community boards is never a bad idea though to see what other players are using. ^TK

Unfortunately, the Legacy console versions of Minecraft are no longer supported. The current version of the game that is supported is the Bedrock version. ^TK
