That does sound frustrating. Is this for a custom skin in Minecraft: Java Edition, or a skin on the Minecraft Marketplace? If it's for Java, can your friends see other players' custom skins? If it's for a Bedrock edition, which platform are you playing on? ^IV

Unfortunately, after a World has been corrupted there isn't anything we're able to do on our end to assist with fixing it. ^TK

Unfortunately, that sounds like corruption within the world and there isn't a way to get it back. Making a backup of Worlds can come in handy as corruption can happen any time for multiple reasons. bit.ly/3jiNA8W ^TK
