Were there any recent changes to the world, such as any farms or large structures that were added? Also, are you or your friend using any Marketplace packs? If so, you might try removing these and see if you're able to connect to the world. Let us know what else you've tried! ^FF

Are you playing on WiFi? Sometimes switching to a hardwire connection can help and we definitely recommend a fresh uninstall and reinstall. Try those and let us know if that helps! ^AM
