It sounds like the World may be corrupt in that case, this can happen for a number of reasons. Can you start a new world and see if you have any issues with that one or joining it? ^TK

Clear off some items that you're not using anymore! Space plays a critical role with the Nintendo Switch and if there isn't enough free space it can cause issues that includes crashing. So in short, remove things you aren't using and look for the other items.^TK

Are you playing on a WiFi connection and has anything gone into the Realm as of recent that you noticed this connection issue occurring? ^TK
