Minecraft Support cannot change usernames for players. Players can change their name every 30 days, and previous usernames are held for an additional week after that. For more details, you can check out our FAQ: bit.ly/3zDFn4M ^FF

Does the owner of the Realm have a backup before this issue started taking place? I would also suggest they try basic troubleshooting their connection to the server: Check firewall/antivirus, play on hardwire connection. ^TK

Did you purchase the Windows 10 Edition of the game or did you buy the Java Edition? I only ask bcause we have two seperate escalation paths for these two. ^TK

I don't see anything about an error 1 on our end. Can you uninstall/reinstall, make sure tht athe firewall/antivirus have given minecraft approval? Let me know if that helps or not. ^TK
