Unfortunately, the promotion to redeem a free copy of Java is only available for players who have Minecraft for Windows and is currently not available for console versions of Bedrock. ^AM

There could be a couple things causing this. Have you tried loading a backup of the world from before the update? Let us know if there's any other troubleshooting you've tried so we can narrow it down. ^AM
What kind of console are you playing on? Also, if you have any old worlds or backups you don't intend to use or have duplicates of, clearing those out can make some extra space. ^AM
