Sounds like you had a patch of bad luck! Unfortunately End Ships aren't guaranteed to spawn for every city--they've got a relatively low chance. Keep exploring though, and I hope you find one soon! ^NS

You may be getting a bit too far from the furnace. The game only loads a few areas at a time to make sure it can run. If you go too far from your furnace, the game will essentially pause that area. Look up "chunk loading" or "render distance" for more info! ^NS
