Newer accounts (purchased after Dec 1, 2020) don't need to migrate, since they started out as Microsoft accounts. The Migrator cape is only available to accounts older than this, who have migrated from Mojang to Microsoft. ^NS

When you first open Minecraft on Switch, please allow the game to load for at least a full 1-2 minutes; you should be automatically logged in to your Microsoft account. If you still aren't logged in after 5 minutes, try restarting Minecraft. ^NS

New accounts, created after Dec 1, 2020, are not eligible for the cape. This is because the Migrator cape is only for players with Mojang accounts who migrated to Microsoft, and new accounts started out as Microsoft accounts. ^NS

You don't need to have an Outlook email to create a Microsoft account--you can use several different domains, such as Gmail or Yahoo for example. See this article for steps on migrating to a new Microsoft account: msft.it/6015w1plv ^NS
