There's a chance your brother may have unintentionally created a Microsoft account if he signed up to a Microsoft service (like OneDrive, for example). It may be worth using a different email to create a new Microsoft account. ^NS

Your friend actually needs to download the update, in this case. Although it's a bit confusing, 1.18.2 is actually the update before 1.18.10. You can check out a list of the latest updates here! msft.it/6016wD1cm ^NS
