Because Minecraft Pocket Edition syncs with your Microsoft/Xbox Live account, downloading the Xbox app to your phone, signing in and restarting Minecraft could fix the issue. You may also try force-closing and relaunching Minecraft and fully resetting your phone. ^SA

The problem you've described sounds like a temporary issue and should be resolved very soon. Please try restarting your Realm, and if the issue persists, you can report a bug here: bugs.mojang.com/ ^SA

Hi there! The Pocket Edition and Java Edition usernames belong to two different account systems (Xbox Live and Mojang), so it's possible your preferred name may already be taken in Minecraft Java (Mojang). I hope this helps! ^SA
