Some history... In 2006, Hamas won the elections to the Palestinian Legislative Council with 44% of the votes against 41% for Fatah. A year later, Hamas defeated Fatah in the Battle of Gaza (June 10-15). Fatah officials were either taken prisoners, executed or expelled (1/2)
