So far, only one Democratic member of the U.S. Senate has called for Sen. Menendez to resign. @MollyJongFast tells @MehdiRHasan she hopes more will follow: ‘We’re seeing Democrats do the right thing but sometimes, they need to be pushed.”

Why can't we do what Republicans do? Democrats...because then there's not even a reason to have TWO Parties.
Almost everyone I know here in NJ wants Menendez to resign.

Well, I can understand why. . Either they all are held to standard or it means nothing to be charged with serious crimes as long as you’re an elected official.

I hate that a Latino member of congress is going to be forced out. @SenatorMenendez , don’t do it. Stay and fight as long as you can.

This is the right thing to do. Plus it is an easy political win. This is a no brainer.

Not sure why the hesitation. They were quick to run Al Franken out on the rails.
I saw someone say that “universally, democrats were calling for his resignation,” and I couldn’t figure out where they were coming from. Democrats, if we want to be thought to have integrity, we have to call for resignation whichever side of the aisle is failing.
