Could the DOJ have charged Trump sooner in connection with Jan. 6? "Yes," former federal prosecutor Ankush Khardori tells @mehdirhasan. "And we should have gotten it earlier." What about people who say the DOJ couldn't have gone any faster? "Yeah, those people are wrong."

There's always people who yell shoulda woulda coulda! Hindsight is 20/20! I'm sorry but our justice system has been broken for years! I have no faith that the #KhardoniWay would have given better results than the #GarlandWay
From the outside looking in I can say it’s nothing but flailing DESPERATION LOVE IT - you guys Can’t stop what’s about to happen. Get over it - You Lost and now you need to reconcile what this means for your future.
What value is this conversation? It only detracts from the charges. Stop.

There WAS a robust investigation, immediately. It just took this long to build. When Jack Smith came aboard, he only had a few more to flip, indict.

If Trump had gone away the charges would have gone away but Trump can't help himself. His narcissism won't let him fade away.

Exactly. And when none of these trials happen before the election and Trump is back in the WH, blame Merrick who could’ve moved much much sooner.

It makes me sick to my stomach that we're forced to play race-against-the-clock now.

Yes, it's conspiracy theory, but it's rather obvious: If Trump had gone gently into the night, Democrats might have preferred not to prosecute him. They waited until it looked like Trump would win the nom. As a bonus, this (you'd think) trashes GOP hopes & assures Biden's re-elex

Misses the point that it was more important to first remove the paramilitary leaders and their thousand most fervent followers, most of whom were there on Jan. 6.
