.@BeschlossDC: "We have run out of checks and guardrails and remedies against a president who misbehaves, and if the last 7 years aren't a living demonstration of that, I don't know what else we need."

@DaveHendersonJD @JillWineBanks @glennkirschner2 If any of Trump's court cases get delayed or there are no convictions, if he does get re-elected can he be impeachd for any convictions, conspiracies to defraud, espionage of class'd docs, based upon tapes, texts or docs uncovered?

Misbehaves? I would not call what a mob boss does as misbehaving. I would call it criminal.

Which is scarier is that there are no guard rails against the supreme court. A president can be voted out at least corrupt partisan Republican judges who work for Leonard Leo and Federalist Society cannot.

Beschloss is ALWAYS a good interview because he knows his history and is as appalled as all Americans are with Donald Trump’s presidency. And Beschloss is funny in his delivery.

The founders would not have imagined that the checks, like impeachment, would not work to remove and diswualify a Trump or Thomas.

You have to wonder if Ford’s “Profile in Courage” was laudatory after all. If Nixon had been charged and taken to trial, this “Unitary Executive Theory” nonsense could have been put to rest decades ago.

Social corrosion continues to do it's job it seems.

The fundamental flaw in the system is that the framers of the Constitution never considered that the electorate (us) would elect a corrupt person to be President. We had a run of 240 years where that was pretty much the case (yes, there were a few bad actors, but none this bad).
