President Biden and Kevin McCarthy’s debt limit agreement has now been revealed. But, @MehdiRHasan asks, can this truly be called a “deal” if only one side got what they wanted? And are Democrats really prepared to do this all again in 2 years time?

This is only the beginning.
The fact that a deal was negotiated at all will ensure policy priorities will be set by last minute debt blackmail (instead of congressional debate) for years to come. Biden’s loss (and ours) was agreeing to negotiate.

You just said that. Tim Scott smiles a lot. Lol
I see this as a Republican nightmare deal. The howls from the right will be constant & Caving Kevin’s Caucus will fracture. It will pass the House because Dems will vote for it just to take the debt limit off the table. A win they couldn’t get w/o a real senate majority in 2022.

Mehdi needs to change his format. He is angry, condescending, and arrogant all of the time. Just turn him off now.
