President Biden and Kevin McCarthy’s debt limit agreement has now been revealed. But, @MehdiRHasan asks, can this truly be called a “deal” if only one side got what they wanted? And are Democrats really prepared to do this all again in 2 years time?

Will Jack Smith delay until debt bill passed ? Hope Not
Most of it takes place over time. The budget will be debated again in just 5 months and has to be approved by the House anyway. Nothing was given that wouldn’t be taken anyway. Meanwhile there is an election next year that Democrats can win and restore everything.

By then, Joe will have the 14th amendment worked out. He’s got a plan.

Wow. Turning MSNBC off for the first time. You are so, so arrogant. Wow.
Have you read the whole deal yet ? If not, don’t do analysis of its pros and cons.

Biden got what he wanted, no default. The Libs shouldn't be spending the last 3 months talking about how the GOP wants to default only to now say not defaulting wasn't a win. Also America always negotiated with terrorists, we did it with Russia to get people back, the Taliban etc
There's a lot of democrats who are making excuses for Biden and in denial.
It's a relatively good deal even without considering the debt limit. McCarthy got played, Biden's team are winning maybe because they're smarter which is a great thing. BUT, it's ominous that the debt limit is on the table.
