With the House GOP passing an anti-socialism resolution - and putting Dems on notice - @mehdirhasan asks if it's better for the left to distance themselves from the label, or embrace it? @ninaturner and @AmandiOnAir debate the best strategy for the party.

This is such a stupid and self-indulgent conversation. Socialism is a loser in American politics. "Well akshully, you love socialism..." is almost as dumb as "Defund the police doesn't actually mean..." And no coincidence they're brought to you by the same people.
Not going to make a damn bit of difference, Republicans are losing on all issues so they'll just keep hitting with socialism crap...concentrate on RW colossal mistakes, there are plenty.
*sigh* How have democrats still not figured out how to respond to this? Truman had his faults but messaging wasn’t one of them.

I think that both "socialism"and "Marxism" need to be defined clearly. Obviously, the Right is ignorant of the concepts,or more likely, cynically using the terms as "bogie men". But that sort of nuance might be above the intellectual level of most.
total false dichotomy.. socialism includes crosswalks, public education, public safety facilities, Social Security, Medicare.. GOP just attempting to create divisiveness when true leaders work together for the good of all..

Only if the Dems and the msm have the guts to call the GOP exactly what it is - a party run by and for fascists. GOP fascists are pros at co-opting the conversation and misleading the public; the msm and Dems must call them exactly what they are #GOPFascists.
Let’s have the guts to call this what it is - GOP Fascism . . .

The bias against “socialism” is ridiculous. Socialist democracies are the most successful countries with the best standard of living, bar none.

! Dems don’t have to embrace either -but they *must put forces to work on correcting & properly DEFINING socialism w/ historical context & nuances. Maga & most Americans don’t have a true clue & they’re not being taught how to understand it + do the research work to move forward.
