Only two nations still have a debt limit (the U.S. and Denmark) — but it wasn't long ago that Australia did, too. "But guess what?" @StephanieKelton asks @mehdirhasan. "They realized how stupid that was … and so it's gone."

As long as a "debt limits" remain, citizens will be reminded regularly that the government keeps spending way beyond those limits. That makes the government look bad, so what to do? Spend less? Can't buy votes that way 🫢 So eliminate the reminder 🤫 That's the ticket!
Who failed, or is currently failing, to bring Biden up to speed on this?
Debt limits are not the problem not sticking to them is the problem. That's why home prices to income have gone parabolic and eventually will crash along with the economy. Until then enjoy buying a million home with your $70,000 annual income.
I guess it is time to mint the coin, to commemorate the debt ceiling, and its coming demise. Display the coin in the Smithsonian, like the inquisition would do when they 'showed their instruments', before use.
Now it’s bad when trump was in not so bad are you biased
I also have no debt limit, it sure is fun, for now anyways
Thanks Mehdi, I learned something today. I had no idea about this!
