It’s entire purpose is so republicans can take our economy hostage to get what they want. It’s like saying our finances are out of whack, so I’m going to stop paying my mortgage and credit cards until I figure it out. It’s stupid AF. Yet, the hostage takers always seem to win.

Great-grandad can’t even understand the question. If God intended for America not to have a debt ceiling, He wouldn’t have created debt in the first place. Joe Biden is the old guard, not the vanguard.
Sure it does, great tool for inciting panic in the markets and then pointing the fingers at the President.
The debt limit is in place still because it's a whipping post for the opposition in every admin.
And didn't Denmark essentially diffuse it as a potential economic weapon a while ago?

GOP is oligarchism 101, everybody keeps forgetting Fox News attempted merger was foiled by the Democrats; trying to buy up news outlets everywhere, also remember Trump eliminating Gov. international funding to news outlets; "wake up people", "trying to control the media"!
