Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg vowed to investigate the Southwest Airlines meltdown that stranded thousands over the holidays. But @mehdirhasan has a question for Buttigieg: Wouldn’t it have been better to try and keep this crisis from happening in the first place?

As a former airline employee, best to go to the horses' mouth....not Pete.
Investigate/identify the source, then fix it.
You know why southwest had the most problems? Both their hubs were heavily hit by the storm. I'm pretty sure that all the other airlines have equally outdated software, just like all the booking systems use Saber. The other airlines just want to squash SW. Corps love monopolies.
🤣🤣🤣he isn't going to do it. He and his honey boy got stocks in airlines when biden appointed you so he ain't going to ruin his new money is raking in.

Here on Planet Earth not everything can be anticipated or managed by government.
Pete is no longer their CEO. Check with new guy. Wish there was a way to claw back the money swa used for buy backs instead of promised improvements. Their systems are decades old. Pete didn’t stop them from improving in 2000. Get your buddy David Sirota on it.
“Investigating” is what you say you’ll do when you plan to do nothing. It’s ongoing….forever.
