Because the war machine wants to wring every penny out of this conflict.

For the obvious reason that, if someone is raping and killing your people, you don't say "Well, maybe if we hand over some of our land and people they'll stop hurting the rest of us."
I wish progressives actually did support negotiations. But those cowards bailed on that letter faster than if someone had spilled hot soup on their private parts.

It wasn’t controversial, the letter was just dumb because it was restating what the admin was already doing and causing a fight for no reason
