A deadly shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs has left five dead and dozens injured. And if we’re going to talk about hate crimes, we have to talk about hate speech, too, @mehdirhasan says, because the rise in anti-LGBTQ violence isn't happening in a vacuum.

Defending the hyper-sexualization of children? This isn't about LGTBQ, it's about indoctrinating kids with an extreme viewpoint of sexuality. Leave the kids alone, let them learn life skills in schools, then parents will leave the groomers alone. rainn.org/news/grooming-know…

The guy who did it identifies as "they/them" you know. I don't think this tragedy is fitting into your preconceived narrative very well.
The bottom line here is all these people would be alive if the CO Springs DA and the FBI had done their jobs. Felony 1st degree kidnapping and a bomb threat against his own mother should have been enough to protect citizens from this habitual criminal. RIP 🙏 leaders failed you.

Will this post just disappear now that we know the shooter was a gay weirdo?

Who will decide what is a hate speech and what is not?
