Interesting. I thought this would be more of a generational divide than a gender divide.
It's that people don't like being labeled by a word concocted in a faculty lounge. Inclusive is good but trying too hard isn't. People like being referred to by actual real terms that they know and are comfortable with. If it's something new/slang it needs to arise organically.
