Should George W. Bush and Dick Cheney be forgiven for the Iraq War because they’re against Trump? @MehdiRHasan and @AymanM argue that Bush and Cheney are unworthy of rehabilitation, no matter the political moment.

Forgiven for their abuses, no. Perhaps they should apologize & ask for forgiveness first.
I think we’ve forgiven far too many asshole politicians. And now editorials are springing up like weeds - even in ostensibly credible newspapers - asserting that Biden should pardon Trump. What is WRONG with people??? 😖😡

An estimated over 1 million Iraqis were killed, injured and/or displaced because of Bush's war. Why not ask them?
I don't think anyone is saying that either get a pass for the shitty things they've done. However, noting that they aren't as shitty excuses for human beings as Trump or his monions/acolytes is a valid observation. As bad as they were, they barely hold a candle to trumpublicans.

Hell no. They both helped create the monster that is the MAGA movement(Brooks brothers riot) Also, they are torturers. So…no
Even awful people can be/do right, though. I think the Cheney and Bush families are horrific, but their positions on the current trump situation aren’t wrong, in my opinion.
No, but apparently they do have some redeeming qualities about them.
Are we all that simple of thinkers?

Ask the men and women who fought in those invasions… then ask the families of those who didn’t return, or returned with severe injuries.
