It all comes back to Mitch McConnell. If the "gun-rights activists" use their voice loud and clear, it might change McConnell's position on the framework, and he might not vote for the bill, according to a person close to McConnell. McConnell usually isn't very reliable.

A lot of the other stuff she said was pretty thoughtful. But yeah, this specific part stuck out to me as a little naive, and honestly passing out way too much credit to Republicans for acting like they’d support the bare minimum of something they’re against.
