The original Constitution didn’t give women the vote, so we amended it. It didn’t give slaves freedom from bondage, so we amended it. So if a part of the document prevents even the most basic gun reforms to keep citizens safe, Mehdi asks, shouldn't it be time for an update?

Do you know the process to amend the Constitution? Not gonna happen. 1) two-thirds vote of both houses of Congress have to approve. 2) three-fourths of state legislatures have to approve (i.e., 38 of 50 states). Women BARELY got the right to vote here history.com/this-day-in-hist…

2/3 in the senate and 2/3 in the house would fix a lot.
If we amend the 2nd amendment, SCOTUS, with Alito writing the majority opinion, will declare the new amendment null and void based on the rational that congress and the state legislatures were unduly influence and intimidated by the WOKE leftist mob.
We don’t need an amendment, we just need to have the 2A that we had for the first 220 years of its existence before that hideous, ahistorical and judicially putrid Heller ruling destroyed it.

Thank you for your service, Mehdi. Sending love from San Diego.
Unfortunately the Constitution allows as few as 2% of voters to block a constitutional amendment, so a new one might be needed altogether...

SO, the original Constitution did plainly mean to give all HUMANS equal rights by invoking the word, "man", but the 3/5ths Compromise clearly ruined that. We do need a Const. omnibus amendment to get rid of Citizens United and all the other nonsense that shouldn't be there.
