Evan McMullin, now trying to unseat Mike Lee, was staunchly anti-abortion in 2016. Yet he tells @mehdirhasan he now opposes overturning Roe v. Wade: “I do not think that that is the way for the country to move forward on this issue.”

Democracy is better off if McMullin defeats Lee even it McMullin isn't pro-choice. Lee is clearly an anti-democracy, pro-insurrection Trumpist. McMullin is better than that, we just don't know how much better.

I hear what he says. Let's see what he does!

omg I love that our positions are so different but he seems reasonable enough we could make a worthwhile compromises or maybe even achieve, dare I say it, "expand the pie" negotiations - a concept seemingly devoid from the lexicon of the US's retrograde, zero-sum politicians 🫤

Plenty of conservative politicians are personally against abortion, but recognize the right of others to choose it. And he’s right—overturning nearly 50 years of settled law will not help us move forward. #EvanforUSSenate

She regretted it for the rest of her life. I wish people knew the truth about that. Nobody wants to have regrets.

@EvanMcMullin Egg McMuffin is running as a Democrat which is why he changed his position. He can't appeal to GOP voters saying he's pro-abortion.
