Democrats have failed to address the messaging issue behind “Defund the Police” — which, by the way, was never about taking money away from fighting crime, @CharlesMBlow says. So what should we call the movement? @deray has one idea: “Move the Money.”

Same old story, different chapter as all I hear here are some fancy word salads from a couple of very well-spoken men. But that's all it is because no matter how you spin it, the core root problem with inner city crime lies within the home.

It was a losing slogan right out the gate.

I think “Reform the Police” is a slogan that ppl understand, also isn’t the goal to change policing for the betterment of the ppl it serves ?
I don’t want to defund the police. I want to disarm most police officers. Bad apples will quit immediately. Police will become much more polite. New tactics and tech will be used to enforce the law. Police will truly protect and serve

“Defund the police” means make the police have less or no money. This is the top policy priority of the movement and why it’s phrased that way. There is no messaging issue, there’s an issue of the party not wanting to actually discuss the merits of the central policy.
How is defunding the Police currently working out for Black Americans living in crime ridden areas? Do either of these game show hosts actually live in these areas or do they look down from their Skyrises and pretend?
So what is the messaging behind Defunding Police? Throwing more money and benefits at the problem?
