I doubt it would be bi-partisan. All it takes is one case of someone doing something horrendous. And people will be yelling for the death penalty. Ignoring the nuance of the legal system and it's wrongs. And we all know how the GOP will capitalise on that anger.

if only the courts in deciding cases that have execution as a penalty were infallible. They're not, they make mistakes all the time!
I say give her a choice. Stay in prison, until your death, with zero chance of release. Or the death penalty. Some might choose to end their stay on the planet. I believe child killers forfeit their right to be amongst the general population. Death or exile.
