After 1/6, Mitch McConnell was all for Trump's conviction in the Senate. Yet he did nothing about it — and signaled that the GOP should support Trump if he runs again. What gives with the GOP's fleeting fury? @cornellbelcher & @mehdirhasan discuss tonight on @MSNBConPeacock

McConnell remembered his party’s base of racists and religious bigots and that trump was still their god on earth.

McConnell always tries to “appear” reasonable and respectable while placating his party’s rabid base. Since he has no soul, it was easy for him to condemn Trump, knowing all along he would not support conviction on impeachment and that criminal prosecution was very unlikely.
For starters they’re huge hypocrite’s especially @LeaderMcConnell ,they literally act like 10yr old bullies and could care less about everyday Americans…and the Constitution.
For the same reason they fight to NOT hold votes on anything. They live in fear of taking a stand. This is the party that voted to temporarily change the filibuster to allow the debt ceiling to be passed. They knew it needed to be done, but they are terrified of bipartisanship.
Did nothing? No, he actually reversed himself and lobbied against conviction!
Never forget that while the dead bodies of Charlie Hebdo cartoonists were still warm, this goofball "journalist" was defending the religious zealot murderers.
