Why does this former lawyer for the first impeachment against Trump think it's "useless" for the Jan. 6 committee to recommend criminal charges against the former president? @danielsgoldman explains his view on the (damning) evidence to @mehdirhasan:

Where is that f**ktard Merrick Garland? There have been NO consequences for any of the last presidential term. Have given up hope. Dems won’t charge before the mid-terms because “it would look bad”. Useless political twats
Question: why hasn’t the Mueller Report been implemented to indict ex-president Trump?

I love him but he sure is a Debbie downer.

OK. This makes sense, as long as the DOJ is already investigating. We are just having nightmares of no one being held accountable and the silence is driving us mad.

Why would anyone ever be referred then? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t buy “it’s political”. It seems NOT doing it is political (if you’re scared it will be used as a political weapon). They use anything as a weapon. Rule #1 Don’t obey in advance. 20 yrs from now will we wonder why no referral?

Palmer is saying that the DOJ taking action on their own volition will be a better than a potentially partisan referral from the Jan 6th com. Not sure what they're waiting for at the DOJ.
I disagree. If they wrap up the investigation and don’t recommend charges against Trump, the Republicans are going to point to that as his innocence. I think the problem is Democrats overthink it and don’t want to “portray” it as political. Whereas Republicans could care less.
Agree. He even admits that a referral would "put pressure on the DOJ." They need a little pressure methinks.

So the Chief Insurrectionist walks away unscathed, as usual, because actually holding him to account for anything risks further inflaming the already red-hot GQP beast.
