.@SenWarren says "Today would be a great today to cancel student loan debt." She tells @mehdirhasan that "If the president canceled $50,000 in student loan debt, he could cancel the black-white wealth gap, for those with student loan debt, by 27 pts." It'd help tens of millions.

Parents and students who saved and didn’t take vacations/lived thrifty are penalized under this ridiculous idea. I agree with zero interest, but to forgive penalizes many others.

What about the rest of us who worked hard to pay that back over the years? Cancelling student debt is not the answer, if someone is displaced for work then forbearance could be an option. Get to work and create your proud family's legacy there are plenty of jobs out there!

They still need to lower the interest rate and stop the compound interest. People shouldn’t owe more than the original loan.

How is having 50k in debt immoral but 120k in debt is fine? CANCEL ALL OF IT

Debts don't cancel themselves and disappear. You're telling American Taxpayers that took care of their business properly to now take care of all the "Cancelled" debt. They knew what loans were & now want out. Got what they wanted then, now get someone else to pay. Unacceptable!

@SenWarren I have said it before and will continue to say it as long as you and others continue to speak about/tweet this. If you want to fix the problem with student debt in this country, craft a comprehensive bill that reforms the entire system and get it to @POTUS. 1/2
