.@SenWarren says "Today would be a great today to cancel student loan debt." She tells @mehdirhasan that "If the president canceled $50,000 in student loan debt, he could cancel the black-white wealth gap, for those with student loan debt, by 27 pts." It'd help tens of millions.

Well that would be great but that still don’t fix the problem because even if they paid 50,000 my husband would still be $125,000 in student loan debt with a degree he can’t find a job in
What about the poor souls who couldn't go to college
Love you Liz, but I don’t agree w. this. Programs that offer a stipend to repay make more sense. Many of us went to state schools, worked 3 jobs while in school, didn’t study abroad because of cost. So blanket repayment would not be fair. Also let’s lower the the actual cost!

.@JoeBiden has THREE viable options re #StudentDebt: 1. #CancelStudentDebt 2. Extend total pause on interest & payments—OR— 3. Cancel #StudentLoan *INTEREST* AND reduce monthly payments to 5% of monthly income WHILE CAPPING FURTHER INTEREST. @RonaldKlain
Replying to @SenSchumer
How about @POTUS @JoeBiden first & foremost cancel the (predatory!) *INTEREST* on #StudentLoans AND reduce monthly payments to five percent (from 10 percent) of one's monthly income as an alternative to doing nothing?? @teachcardona @RichCordray

Yes, “it’d help 10s of millions”……learn to expect handouts, become dependent on the govt, owe a gratitude of debt to the Democrat party, and feel ok about signing for debt they cant repay. Sure Senator……thats really great for our country.

When and if Biden does cancel student loan debt don't forget to have him send a refund to past federal student loan borrowers who worked hard to pay off their loans and sacrificed the same things current borrowers are saying they are sacrificing to pay off their loans.

If the government would re-write the student loan bill and take all protections away from the banks then many students could just declare bankruptcy on them to get relief. Why would the government allow any loan to not be able to be discharged!
