Many international observers have – rightfully – expressed horror at the ongoing atrocities in Ukraine. However, as @MehdiRHasan and @AymanM point out, there have been more than a few instances where certain commentators’ shock at the war in Europe ebbs into outright racism.

Like all races white folk will look after their own first …. as do you …. so spare me the tears …
One point that we miss all the time is think of which countries are the ones whom manufacture and sell the guns of all the wars , and mostly done buy mostly western countries
No parent ever hopes and dreams that one day their child will achieve refugee status. We must all do better for the sake of our children, who are the most vulnerable victims of humanitarian catastrophes around the world.
It’s more alarming when you see the level of racism melted on African in Ukraine whom are student. They are harassed, molested and wont be allowed to get on trains to safety and more disturbing when no one is reporting this @AJENews @cnni @BBCBreaking @SaharaReporters
Great work pointing out the hypocrisy

I had hoped you would be more "aggressive" about this narrative and this reporting. It's not just "off", the double standard towards white and non white refugees is appalling. Please give it the attention it deserves

We are living in a hypocrite world where skin of your colour and religion matters above anything else. The blood of European is more valuable than the rest of the world despite Europeans committing worst massacres and human rights abuses in first and second world wars. 1/2
