Today, the autocratic forces, where ever they reside, believe our divisions within are their strength. They are betting our dysfunction through divisions can be an asset in dividing and conquering us. They think they can impose fear to achieve their autocratic ends.
Putin's weakness is he is creating a large number of disconnected, unviable, unstable fiefdoms (Abkhazia, Ossetia, Transnistria, Donbass,Belarus ). They depend on Russia for their survival... a country that is struggling to meet the needs of it's own citizen
"If Ukraine didn't have a unifying national idea, it certainly does now. In some ways, Putin is the most important nation-builder of Ukraine."
