For a party that blasts “snowflakes” and “feelings” and “safe spaces,” the GOP can be awfully thin-skinned. Florida Republicans are targeting education with a bill that includes a provision protecting students from — get this — discomfort.

Idiom origin: 'snowflake' In Nazi Germany when the Jews were being burned in ovens, their ashes would float out of the chimneys through the air and dust everywhere they landed like snow. Nazi German's would say, "Da geht noch eine Schneeflocke." "There goes another snowflake."

Not teaching real history will bring a lot of discomfort to minority students.

Are you kidding me? Parents, encourage your young children to go into psychotherapy. With these kinds of schools, future adults will need a lot of help getting through the day.
To learn means you will be in a state of "discomfort."
GOP has sought to defund, dismantle, and disparage public education for 40 years. We sacrificed good and great public school systems for cheap short-sighted gains and private profit. Fear of law suits and Big Brother in the classroom might just fulfill that dream.
