“Make no mistake, Mitch McConnell will use that [filibuster] carveout to carve out other things going on and I think that is a fear that Sen. Sinema has and Sen. Manchin,” says @DougJones. “But at the end of the day, I think protecting democracy is a lot more important.”

According to statements he's made, Manchin believes the filibuster should be preserved precisely because it allows the minority to dictate legislative outcomes. @Sen_JoeManchin supports minority rule in the USA.
Replying to @ZhiZhuWeb
"this badly undermines a leading argument for keeping the filibuster, i.e., that it facilitates bipartisanship. ...Manchin is declaring that the filibuster’s virtue lies expressly in the fact that it gives the minority the ability to “say no.”" washingtonpost.com/opinions/…

Carve out things?!?!? Like the Supreme Court?!?!?

He's already done it. Hello!
Mitch will carve out what ever he thinks he needs. Tradition be damned.

McConnell will do what McConnell wants to do REGARDLESS of what the Dems do. Hasn’t everyone learned that lesson yet?! Dems need to stop giving into fear and be brave to fight the righteous fights. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Fear of what McConnell may do is both well-founded and immaterial. He’s already shown multiple times in the past what he’s willing to do. Protecting voting rights now will preempt some of his and others’ future bad acts.
He will do that anyway.

Repubs don't need an excuse to break Filibuster but they love it that a couple of Dem smarty-pants can be gaslight into a fearful stance. I think it's called A Bluff.
Well if that is their fear, they should not be afraid cuz Mitch has already done that and will do again. No that’s not fear they have it’s knowledge which makes their stand so pathetic and hurtful.
