If it took 5 attempts for ex-adviser to the U.S. in Afghanistan @ahmadsmohibi’s family to be able to get into the Kabul airport. Imagine how difficult it must be for other families without connections. “It’s a total catastrophe, a human crisis.”

I hear the pain in this man’s voice but how did over 80K people make it out so far? Individual stories are not meshing with reporting from the military. Why?

The people of Haiti would like to chime in

Then the over 80,000 that have left must have worked directly with the President or ???? All this paranoia isn’t helping anyone ….
This is not a total catastrophe.
19,000 people evacuated today. 19,000 in one day! Someone is getting evacuated. What about all the people helping? I’m impatient with the disaster framing. What we are reviled by is war; as we should be. War is ugly
But some people are saying it's a successful evacuation process?????
A lot of ‘hot takes’ turned out to be not so hot. Credit to Biden and his team. This is a pretty huge number.

Mehdi, I love listening to you but could you at least give Biden and military some credit! Over 82,000 people out already.
