Have we completely abandoned Afghanistan? “We’ve seen that there’s a will to fight on one side and not on the other side,” @DavidCornDC tells @MehdiRHasan. “This image of making them sound cowardly I don't find to be very fair,” responds @AtiaAbawi.

@AtiaAbawi I'm sorry but I see and hear your interviews on many TV Channels and you really sound ungrateful for the 20 years the US has spent there. Calling this a failure and placing blame on Biden is beyond the pale. Your opinions of the US really angers me as a Veteran !

Is there a better clip ? Like one where she gets to take up more space in the conversation since she is the Afghan woman ? I really have little care of David’s perspective. Thanks 🇦🇫.

@POTUS one great demand of all Afghan factions was all foreign troops to leave their lands. Why the various governments asked them to stay was only for their own survival, and 💸. So regardless of when and how they left, this was the end result. Now help them settle down.

I just can't watch the Medhi Hasan
American’s are shown many images and videos of the Afghanis just abandoning their equipment & even their uniforms. We see that. Until we see images and video of them fighting our view won’t change. What did she see? Is there video?

I don't think it's about cowardice so much as it's about taking what comes and wanting a life. Fighting the Taliban would have only been a delaying action. Delaying it for what?
This guy was there and has a devastating take on what happened. Basically, since the Afghan Gov wasn't in on the Trump/Taliban talks, they saw the writing on the wall. Rather than resist and almost assuredly die, along with their families, they cut deals.
