Prosecutors keep cutting plea deals with Jan. 6 insurrectionists for misdemeanor "unlawful picketing and parading," with a maximum sentence of 6 months and $500. "Judges increasingly are expressing their heartburn about that," says @MacFarlaneNews. "Judges say 'Why not more?'"

I honestly would love to know if the prosecutors would be pursuing a much harsher sentencing if these were majority black people or groups?? Because my gut feeling is that they would be getting max sentencing and prison. And we definitely would not be able to cry for a vacation🤬

Because they are all White people, that’s why they are getting off so easy!!

And what are the prosecutors’ answers for such minimal charges?

People pay as much for traffic fines with court costs. Where is the incentive to not go back again. Trying to interrupt the certification of the vote is what they were doing.

I dont know if prosecutors political but smacks of supporting the maga narrative of just tourists. Judges have heartburn on it then reject or max them with 6 months in these cases. Prosecutors havent charged big fish yet. Why not? Seems evidence abounds

"MORE" might just keep them too poor to go to D.C..... Oh that's right, they can just ask Justice Thomas' wife and other Republicans to pay for the buses, planes, food, and hotels like they did 1/6/2021!!

I remember hearing abt a conference of R State AG’s in lateNov/earlyDec2020 Thr was reporting of ‘unusual procedures’ vs prev confs I imagine most R leaning prosecutors would prefer these ppl go home & return 2 thr social media platforms (But get out of the news cycle - 4 now)
