If Afghanistan is already on the brink of collapse again amid U.S. troops withdrawing, what have we been doing there for two decades? @mehdirhasan chronicles what the War on Terror has *not* achieved.

The US made a mess of Afghanistan by supporting mujahideen terrorists starting under Jimmy Carter in 1979. The US made rained death and destruction on Afghanistan starting 2001 under George W Bush. Now, it's leaving death, injuries, destruction and a mess behind.
Ask your Team to USE correct Map of Pakistan... Deliberate Mistakes takes alot of Effort &..............
Don't forget, that for 10 years the US trained & armed the Talibans & Bin Laden, during the Soviet occupation. They learned the lesson. Should we expect another outcome?
20 yrs of lying by 3 American presidents fooling America n UN n almost all the world. Now withdrawal after failure 2 Trillion lost loosing lives of innocent with Justification as collateral damage An absolute failure of 2 superpowers including those who participated in a fake war
The Taliban are using 20 year old Toyota pickup trucks, AK-47s, and grenade launchers and the Afghan armed forces can't defeat them? Afghans don't have the will to fight for their country even when they have better fighting equipment that the U.S. gave them.

Every month for the last ~20 years it crossed my mind... "I think the Taliban are just waiting it out. They know the US & allies can't stay forever, so they'll just be patient & make moves when the enemy withdraws". I didn't need special training or CIA reporting to figure it.
I'm betting Afghanistan harbors no America-attacking terrorists again. Something, I guess.
Never should have been there - Bush’s fantasy

We especially appreciated this graphic, and @mehdirhasan’s preview of “Reign of Terror,” an important new book by @attackerman.
