Was it a mistake for the CDC to tell vaccinated Americans it was ok to unmask back in May? @angie_rasmussen tells @MehdiRHasan: “I do think it was a mistake … It was a one-size-fits-all for the country and the country is in very different places.”

Why I never stopped masking at the grocery store etc. Counting on antivaxxers to follow the rules was an unlikely bet.

When your city’s positivity rate goes from 1% (June 1st) to 8.1% (August 1st)…yeah, it was a mistake. 😖

in fact it’s as divided as the pre civil war times as we speak
The CDC not requiring Federally issued (and enforced) vaccine passports while allowing folks to use the honor system for masks was a huge mistake. 2nd only to not providing N95 masks (from quality manufacturers) on every street corner. Too many folks wearing mesh scarfs.

The Republicans have been masks-off since at least the Clinton impeachment.
Thank you for this. Yet, if "many" of your colleagues were in agreement, we wish they would have said so publicly to a greater extent.
Yes, it was a mistake. They gave the all clear to go maskless far too early. They made the mistake of thinking the majority of the country would be smart enough to vaccinate.
