Not sure about that. They would have been fired and replaced by pro Trump sycophants who would have eagerly carried out his tyrannical dreams. They held the line from the inside. The fact is people were speaking out and that wasn’t enough.

I used to wonder where all the good Germans were and why they allowed the rise of Hitler. Same place all good Americans and key top leaders throughout all government branches are…too few willing to rise up against it strongly and loudly enough. Our fate may well be sealed now.
