.@WhipClyburn tells @mehdirhasan that he has two ways to pass a voting rights bill that combines HR 1 and HR 4: “By carving out a workaround of the filibuster” and “making it a reconciliation issue.”

Clyburn is way off, doesn't represent working people. When have you been on the left congressman?, you're not progressive. Just grabbling lobbyist money

The voting rights bill is a clear effect by Democrats to take control of our elections and disenfranchising the American people, this type of garbage should be illegal in a democracy but liberals don't believe in freedom
f they finally do away with filibuster it would actually create bipartisanship because the Republicans would have to start engaging and negotiating with Democrats if they want anything in a bill. Right now they refuse to even engage with Dems!
Look what happened when Pelosi went ahead w/ 1/6 commission that Republicans didn’t want any part of/voted against. Now GOP wants involvement because they know they’ll get nothing if they aren’t involved. So get rid of filibuster so Republicans can’t just block bills & do nada.
Democrats, when in the minority cried out loudly when someone suggested removing the filibuster, which they used 230 times. When in the majority all of the sudden, the filibuster is EVIL, LIKE THEM . HYPOCRITES ALL!
Either way, it’s time for the Senate Dems to step up, take this seriously & act with urgency, and stop acting like their performative tweets & fundraising appeals will somehow protect voting rights. The Dems are playing politics; the GOP is playing to win.
Elizabeth Warren, 2019, calls for end of the filibuster using example of the inability of Senate to pass an anti-lynching bill. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. politico.com/story/2019/04/0…

And yet I bet they don't end up doing either of those options. If "carving out the filibuster" was an option, why hasn't it been done? Because Manchin and Sinema won't let it.
